The Jesse Tree is a new tradition in our house.  The Jesse Tree is a unique Advent calendar that follows the family tree of Jesus and tells the story of God’s salvation plan from creation to the birth of Christ.

More information about the history of the Jesse Tree.

To use these ornaments, print them and the scripture reading plan out on card stock.  Cut the ornaments apart and punch a hole in each so that you can use a string to hang them on your tree.  You can have a separate smaller tree like we use, or you can add them to your usual Christmas tree.  You can even laminate the ornaments so they can be used year after year.

Each day, beginning November 29th, read the scripture and hang the corresponding ornament on your tree, continuing through December 25th.

This is a great way to anticipate Christmas while keeping the focus on Jesus!
