Who else just loves Halloween? It is my favorite holiday! I really enjoy being able to dress up and have fun. I also really think its neat the way that communities come together on Halloween. I mean, how many nights a year is it okay to show up on people’s doorsteps unannounced?
I know there are mixed feelings about Halloween among Christians, but our family has always participated, had fun, and not taken it too seriously. This year, we are going to be staying in and having a Halloween party, so I wanted to make some cute treat bag toppers for our trick or treaters. And why not add a positive message of hope to them? So I made two different sizes with two different verses. Of course, John 3:16 is one of them, but the other is Romans 15:13. Where we live, everyone knows John 3:16, so I wondered if people may just overlook it. That’s why I added in Romans 15:13.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13 (NIV)
I think this is a great verse to share and one that you can actually pray over the bags when you are assembling them.
These are super easy to make, just download and print out the size of your choice. There is one that will fit a paper bag and one that will fit a standard plastic sandwich bag.
Each page has two toppers. Cut each one out along the outer edge.
Then just fold in half and staple to the treat bag! That’s it!
I hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
